Anywho, we met up and had dinner at a place called Panini's (on Market between 3rd and 4th) which was a BYOB... which we didn't know, but we each got a complimentary glass of wine (Wes gave me his) with out dinner. The other girls got panini's (grilled, pressed sandwiches), I had a chef salad, Wes had a Cheesesteak (go figure!).
It was a good, cheap, fun dinner with lots of rowdy laughing and story sharing.
We then went to RiverHouse. It was crumby, so we headed out to wander around and try and find something more... lively.
We walked and walked. I love Philly and being able to just stroll and look. We looked at a couple of clubs, but cover charges are beat... so we kept walking. We saw pretty blue lights and walked towards them. It was a place called Bleu Martini. There was no cover so we walked in. And immediately walked out. It was... dark... and there were high-back couches everywhere... and... no body was moving... it was odd. The building right next to it, Cuba Libre, stopped us dead in our tracks though. The front of the building was completely open, there were suave diners sipping mojito's and, probably best of all, a DANCE FLOOR!
We went in and found a table right next to the floor. I've never really noticed Salsa, but it was so hippy and fast and fun looking... Some fella bought our table a round of Mojito's (I don't think he saw Wes sitting with us, just the ladies). Then Nancy uttered the words that I looooooove to hear, "You guys wanna dance!!!!"
Wes and I know nothing of Salsa, but I think the thing that matters there is that you have fun, even if you look ridiculous in the process!
There was a woman there taking pictures. She took a few of Wes and I dancing and then came over to the table when we had sat down and asked for another picture. We said sure, she took the picture, then told us that she worked for Philly2Night.com!!! So... hopefully our pictures will be up on Monday or Tuesday...yay!
I think I'm going to dye my hair today... I've been getting it done by a friend of mine's sister who went to cosmotology school... and she gives me salon color, gloss and highlites for a mere $70 (it would cost more than $200 to get it done in a salon).. but Wes' mom probably wouldn't approve of that expenditure... so I think I'm going to do this color and just have her do the highlights which will hopefully be only $30 or $40.
And then... Olympic Opening Ceremonies tonight!!!!!!! Oh man... so much to be excited about!
Oh, PS. I found a video that pretty accurately illustrates how Wes and I look on the dance floor. In fact, I'm pretty sure that these two stole some of our moves:
